Hello All,

In NX9, I could get the User Defined Symbol dialog by going to MENU->INSERT->SYMBOL and select the USER DEFINED.
In NX10, User Defined Symbol is not there when I go to MENU->INSERT->SYMBOL. When go to SYMBOL, it only has two options: (1) CUSTOM & (2) DEFINE CUSTOM SYMBOL.

Anyone knows how to turn on USER DEFINED SYMBOL function in NX10?

Thanks.

The Custom Symbol items are found on the 'Drafting Tools' tab of the Drafting Ribbon. You can also find them from the 'Command Finder'.

John,

User Defined Symbols command is not there.
See attached screen shot of the User Defined Symbols dialog that I am looking for in NX10.
This screen shot is from NX9.
NX Documentation also says go to MENU->SYMBOL->USER DEFINED. But there is no USER DEFINED option on the NX 10.0.0.24 that I installed.

Thanks,

User Defined Symbols are basically an obsolete scheme which has been replaced by Custom Symbols. This situation has been known for some time.

That being said, you can still get access to the old User Defined Symbols legacy dialog by activating it using the Customize tools. While in Drafting, open the Customize dialog and from the new (in NX 10.0) alphabetical listing of NX functions, you'll find the 'User Defined Symbol' dialog.
