Hello all,

I am new to scripting. I am trying to get the data along a path and I tried the explanation in

The problem is in command line python does not recognize the "session" and gives me the following error:

name 'session' is not defined.

but if I copy and paste the same script in the abaqus cae then I would not get this error. I think one reason might be that we can not use "import visualization" in CLI. Is there any substitute for visualization?
Can you please help me and let me know if there is a way to fix that in CLI.

Thanks

Are you running the script inside /CAE ? Abaqus Python scripts are not supposed to be run with the public Python distribution. Abaqus comes with its own Python compiler version which includes additional modules.

Thanks a lot.
I am running ABAQUS python from the ABAQUS cmd, and it give me the above error. If I run this from CAE I won't get the error.
Are you suggesting that I can not use ABAQUS PYTHON from ABAQUS cmd?
