Using abaqus to analyze the process of 3D printing

Hi everyone.

I'm doing a study that will use ABAQUS to analyze the 3D printing process.

I would like to ask, does this use event series?

Because I found a script to convert GCODE to event series.

If so, is it necessary to write the inp file and put the event series into it?

Is there a faster way to create an inp file for the 3D printing process?

I don't know how to apply the data generated by the script to abaqus.

The name of the script is generateEventSeries.py

Recommended for you

New versions of Abaqus include a built-in plug-in called AM Modeler that lets you define such analysis without having to add the keywords manually. You just need the event series files.
 
do you mean to analyze a 3D printed part as it's being printed ?

TO rb1957: What I'm actually going to analyze is 3D printed concrete. It would be best if we could analyze the process as it printed it. If this is not possible or is too difficult to achieve, I would like to analyze him at each layer.
 
I didn't realise that there was such a thing as 3D printed concrete. Does each pass (deposition) cure completely ? I'd've thought that you'd run physical tests, to see how it compares with olde concrete.
