Using Echometer in uncased hole

Wondering if anyone has shot a FL in uncased hole?

I've got 500' cased hole to surface with 741' open hole below, 2 7/8" upset production tubing to 1 bpd/rpm pcpump @ 1200'+-; 8 5/8" casing

Does the echometer have trouble with this setup? I'm thinking that it should be okay.

Echometer will give a good response in open hole. Often, the casing seat gives a good depth marker for determining fluid level. If the casing is set above the bottom of its drilled hole, you get a reverse kick due to larger hole diameter than casing ID caused by rarefraction, then you get a repeat . The fluid level kick is between the two reverse kicks. You may have to increase your pressure for the shot in such a large annulus. And of course, I've described the ideal situation, good luck.
