I am looking for any experiance with using roller screed for concrete pavement, I heard several oppositions on using this kind of screeds, especially where excess cream rises to the surface of the concrete that could effect the long term durability of the concrete and workmanship should be very well controlled to have a good concrete.

When you are placing concrete pavement, the slump should be so low that "cream" doesn't rise to the surface to the extent that durability is an issue.

When using a vibrating roller screed, the slump has to be a bit higher for it to work properly. It's fine for slab placement, but for durable concrete pavement you have to be more careful about slump control and paste control. If it's a large job, I would consider slip forming. If a small job, then roller or flat screed will work, you just have to be more careful about the concrete itself.

Make sure the mix design accommodates the placement method. Use the largest coarse aggregate practicable for the section being placed. This will cut the water demand, reduce the paste quantity, and make the finish more controllable. Don't let the contractor "wet down" the concrete to make it soupy and easy to place. Keep the slump in a reasonable range (no more than 5"), and get that with water reducing admixtures, not just water itself.
