Using Scrap Tires to Buld Retaining Walls

I have used shredded scrap tires for various applications, however, I was recently asked about using whole tires to form a retaining wall.  I would imagine it gets designed like a segmental wall, but I am looking for info on design guidance.  Or if anyone has any thoughts, that would be appreciated.

Ginger is right !. I saw some article from US Army Corps about the design of slope protections of river embankments using tires. alot of the enviromental groups has been building housing using whole tires rammed with dirt, I have came across many of these pages on the net. You must do a search on the term &quot;mothership&quot; I know it sounds off the wall but that is what these houses been called.
