Hello,

I´m working for a DBB Valve manufaturing company.
We are manufacturing DBBs according to OSHA´s definition of DBB with two separate balls for isolation.
Our valves are used for critical applications to make sure that maintenance work can be performed safely.

To make working with our valves even more safe, we think about using integrated sensors to detect abnormal behaviour or even predict when the Valve is going to leak inside on the ball seats.
This technique could prevent injuries from happening, especially when maintaining downstream of where valves should be shut.

Similar Sensor Technology could be used to detect leakage to the environment.

What are your experiences with leaking ball valves?
Is there a necessity to detect leakage within DBBs?

Looking forward to your expert opinions.
