Hello,

I have a quasi-static problem for which I want to try using the Abaqus static solver. What I want to do is start with some parameter values, run the job, and then use the final configuration as the starting configuration for a new job with new parameter values. Can someone please tell me the easiest way of doing this in Abaqus? I want to do this on a remote server, so a script would be the best way. Can I do this directly using the .inp file?

You can use Isight with Abaqus or write your own Python script to automatize the job submission. There are also built-in capabilities such as restart and import (not to even mention scripting parametric studies). It all depends what exactly you want to do.

So suppose I want to change a BC from 0 to 1, and see how the system changes. But I want to do this iteratively, say in steps of 0.1. How would I do this?

With a simple script that modifies the input file (.inp) or the .cae file and submits the analysis afterwards. Easy to do with Python (.inp or .cae) or another scripting/programming language (.inp).
Or, as mentioned, Isight. But then Isight also has to be installed on the execution machine.
