UT data taken during on-stream vs shutdown - the difference? 1

Good day all.. i'm from oil & gas company.
I've an issue to resolve with regard to ut data.
Is there any difference between ut data taken during on-stream vs shutdown?
For both equipment operated at ambient & above 65 deg celcius.. is there any paper / study done for this?

At temperatures to 50C there will be no difference or issue, readings will be the same, whether the equipment is on-stream or shutdown makes no difference. Above 50C a normal UT probe will start to suffer damage, and you could eventually get incorrect readings. There are specialized higher temperature probes you can use, whether for thickness or flaw detection. Most of the normal flaw detection probes are good to about 175C. You can contact any UT equipment manufacturer for recommendations. I don't know of any paper off hand.
