I've been asked to investigate the cable life for some power cables in our outdoor installations.
Are UV-resistant cables specially treated in any way different to normal cables?
Are there different ratings of protection?
Is the damage (blistering) caused by UV or over-temperature for cables exposed to the sun?
What testing process is done to determine the UV-resistance of cables ie quality assurance?
Any information you have on this subject would be most appreciated
