Overall, I believe UV wax on screws is to protect from and prolong the life of a screw during high heat temps. Is there any other purpose and how critical is this feature? does it act more of a lubricant at the end of the day?

The UV part is so you can use ultraviolet light to see if the screws are coated with wax. The wax is to control friction during installation for consistent tension.
