UW 12 Angle Joints

Table UW-12 column mention that angle joint can be design per U-2g for CAT B and C joints. Never mentions Category A.
1. So the question is does code allow angle joint CAT A for shell plate?
2. And if we do what kind of volumetric NDE and value of joint efficiency to be used?

1. Since Cat A is not mentioned for angle joints, angle joints can not be used for Cat A welds.
2. Try Non-Mandatory Appendix L for joint efficiencies.
