I am having big problems with length/distance dimensioning. This problem has only recently started (obviously I’ve changed something I shouldn’t have in “Options”). The problem occurs within both new and previous drawings. It’s a bit awkward to explain but here goes..

When trying to dimension between 2 lines or the length of a straight line by using the usual “length/distance” icon, I get a dimension with only a single extension line with a dimension value of exactly double what it should be.

My radius/diameter dimensions work fine and are displayed OK

Dimension “definition” shows the correct dimension even though the displayed value is double what it should be.

It seems as if V5 is trying to show a symmetrical type of dimension when all I want is a simple linear dimension.

Interestingly (and annoyingly) when using “Generating dimensions” and retrieving the dimensions automatically they seem to display as expected!

When you have created the dimension, right click and go down the menu to where the menu has Half Dimension ticked and select it to witch it off. This should also fix your future dimensions.

One thing I have noticed is in R10, if Half dimension is selected, and you are trying to create a stacked dimension, it is very difficult to turn off the half dimension for the second and subsequent dimensions. The majority of times you have to start dimensioning again.
