Anyone running V5R14SP4? We have it installed and I've noticed some icons have been replaced by the actual text. It is really crowding the display screen in. I've talked to others and they say it's that way in SP4. I'm about ready to give up using icons/toolbars. Their implementation is less than stellar and inconsistent.

I'v seen this in many versions of V5. Usually cleaning my CATSettings fixes it. I has to do with CATIA losing the path to the icon for that function.

Do you have Large Icons disabled?

I'm pretty sure the Large Icons for all the default workbench operations are defined. Some functions won't have small icons by default.

Try clearing your CATSettings.

All of them.

It's a good idea to do so from time to time. CATIA writes changed settings every time you close the program, and crashes can result in corrupted settings.

Note that you will lose any toolbar customization, etc., when you clear them.

What I generally do is open up CATIA with my admin's clean reference settings, modify to my liking (small icons, locked toolbars, personal toolbars, etc.), exit CATIA, and make a backup of my settings so that I don't lose my customizations when I clear.

Problem is that I think the admin's CATSettings are the ones screwed up. I can't identify which ones they are at the moment.

thanks....

That sucks...

You can circumvent the admin settings by pointing to a different environment, but I don't necessarily recommend doing that. Most places don't like it when you circumvent their environments, and I imagine the military is especially strict.
