Hello All:
I have a Glass vacuum trap that is immersed in a liquid nitrogen dewar. I am interested in the vapors that are condensed inside the trap. This trap is in line with a vacuum pump that generates 1.5 torr of vacuum.
The problem is I am not able to disconnect the body of the trap from the stopper easily ,after each time I use it. Actually,they get badly stuck which prevents easy removal of the condensate. Since,I have to frequently collect my condensate its important that the trap provides a design with this facility.
I have tried using vacuum grease liberally at the joints of the vacuum trap and I have also tried a teflon sleeve but it did not help much.
1) Is there any other means to separate the parts of the trap?
2) Are there any traps that are specially designed for easy removal of condensate? if so where can i look for them? ( i have already looked into chemglass and ace glass)
Any suggestions, advice on this regard will be very helpful,
