Hi all,
Does somebody know and can give me an answer what are values of external forces and moments (from some calculated example) in flanges connections? I mean e.x for DN250 (or bigger) or equivalent NPS. Im going to check the calculation acc. to European standard EN 1591-1 and a gasket friction factor, but, to do that, it is necessary to know values I ask about. I know that it is possible to calculate this using AutoPipe but I have not this software.
Thanks for help.

Allowable external loads on a flanged joint depend on many factors including temperature, internal pressure, flange and bolt material and gasket type.

You have chosen the most difficult Design Code to use in EN-1591, since it needs expensive software and a huge amount of difficult to obtain gasket data.

You might consider using the much simpler ASME VIII Div 2 (preferably the current edition), which unlike Div 1 includes external loads directly in its solution method.

Thanks for fast reply.
But the problem is not EN standard and software (I have my own, easy and fast). Problem is to simulate results of load on bolts as a function of friction factor. The formula (103) in the standad has three parts and if You dont know values of external loads it is not possible to check how the factor changes results. One word - i have to use EN.
