Valve for drain caing pump API

Hi,
I have a question about type of valve used for drain casing pump. E.g for pump OH2 type on casin drain flange I can instal globe valve ora ball valve. Is there a rule that i must use only globe type valve?

Normally, a ball valve or gate valve should be suitable for the pump casing drain and the drain pipe routed to the drain hub.
