Hi Friends,

Have you any ideal about valve handwheel diameter standard?

or how can i decide the diameter of handwheel?

Any standard or thumb rule for Minimum human force apply to hand wheel. Than after i have to use actuator.

If any standard or thumb rule for human force, than i can design handwheel diameter for using torque formula.

Regards
Kamlesh

Erkamal,
Why are you trying to design a valve handwheel?
.....
What kind of valve is it?
What size is it?
What is the pressure Class rating?

Sometimes its possible to do all the right things and still get bad results

Output torque versus hand wheel, lever, or T-handle size is in MSS SP-91. It is important to know how much torque is needed. If it is momentary or continuous, and the position of the hand wheel (above your shoulders, waist height, down by your knees, etc.). All factors affect the potential output from an average plant person.

A rule of thumb that is commonly used is 80 lbf rim pull as a safe working limit. But that is just a general rule. You need to consider the other factors above as well.

There's quite a bit of information showing up with a simple bing search of "valve handweel dimensions"

See page 9 of the Pentair document for some gearbox formulas for gate valves.
