Valve Sealants

Hi friends

I am an engineer at a valve maintenance company.I would like to know which all sealants are reliable and efficient in sealing valves, especially ball & plug type in crude oil and gas lines.Also my ears are open for your suggestions on dependable cleaners in the market.Please inform at the earliest.

I gather you are searching for experiences in use of valve lubricants and sealants suitable for oil and gas industry.

I cannot offer you much here, but I will post a remark:

Valve lubricants as such are normally applied sparingly and have the purpose of giving as long-lasting lubrication as possible, preventing too much torque or resistance by opening and closing a valve.

Sealants have a different purpose and may be a 'first aid' preliminary repair agent to hinder too much leakage when the valveseat or seatsealing is damaged.

This wayt he two types lubricant and sealant have different purposes and different characteristics, and must in addition be suitable to the exact fluid, pressure, temperature, sealing and closing body material.

There is a number of producers worldwide, and at a guess the most important issue would be to find the right lubricant/sealant type for the application, more than a single producer.
