I have vertical datum curve that has a single curvature. It looks like a flatten "C". I created datum points (one feature) at 10% 50% and 85%. I have 3 other section that intersect the vertical datum curve one section at each of the datum point listed above. the section datum curves are parallel and intersection the "C" shape datum curve. When I create a Variable Swept Blend thru sections and the horizontal section plane line is a vertical line. The middle (50%) will deviate from the section like .000102914 mm. Don't laugh, just want to understand for future expection. the top 85% has a gap of .000452906mm I check my accuracy and it is set to absolute .00254mm. The question, Am I seeing model accuracy at work. The objective is I need to create a parametric class A surface of a tail lamp lens and it need to be accurate. I have been told by some to use more sections but I thought I could smooth out some of the bumps where two import surfaces meet. These imported adjacent surfaces are not tangent.
Thanks in a advance. Texaspete

I have the same experience. The sweeps do not seem to have as much accuracy as some other features. It is difficult to have thier edges match the other surfaces even if those surfaces are used as references. I have seen much larger deviations than yours. You may have to use boundry surfaces or some other feature.

I hope someone has an explanation or solution for this.

HDS, I have been reading up on Pro/e and the menu pick "Model Accuracy". Basically there are 2, and you must pick one to start your 3d model. I think picking the "absolute accuracy" is the best. If forces the computer to calculate longer because the computer is now calculated to less than .001 . To set Absolute accuracy to .001 or less just select Absolute accuracy from the menu and type in .001. I think the lowest it will go is .0006. Put in the config.pro the next option:
enable_absolute_accuracy yes

Even with absolute accuracy turned on I have had more problems with sweeps than other features.
