I got a generator and on rotor there a diode bridge and varistor, this one is broken or burnst is better word, so the genset is old.....and no information only this data
Voltage on excitation: 127 V dc Current on excitation 113 A
speed 750 rpm power 2175 KVA
frequency 50 hz resistance on rotor 0,858 ohms
does somebody show me how to calculate with this data??? or some rule of thumb for calculation....

thanks a lot

does somebody help me????

Perhaps it would help if you told us what you want to calculate? It wasn't clear to me at least, so I don't know where to start.

je,je i need toknow the data for a new varistor.. cause really i don´t know hot to calculate the energy to disipate for varistor.....thanks

Sorry uhpo, I'm out of my depth. Probably best to ask the manufacturer. There are certain trade-offs to be made in selecting a varistor and the energy they need to dissipate is dependant on the behaviour of the diodes as well as the characteristics of the generator. Hopefully someone else can chime in.

thanks in any case..i hope somebody see the post and maybe some help will come, cause i know here are really experts.
