Hi there,
I am using Ansys 15 Workbench and the composite module ACP to calculate different composite parts. I ran into a problem I am not sure how to solve:
I want to calculate a cantilever beam with an increasing height but the same amount of plies/fibers over the whole part (i.e. the fiber volume fraction is decreasing).
We have different material property values for different fiber volume fractions but I am not sure how to implement them in the calculation with ansys. The optimal solution would be to somehow correlate the height of the element with a certain fiber volume fraction (and material properties set).
The only workaround that occurred to me was using temperature. I know I can define various values for the stiffness for different temperatures. The only thing unclear is how to assign different temperatures to the elements. And of course it would be best if I somehow could do this assignation of temperatures in a automated manner.
I have searched the forum for similar problems, but have not found any, maybe it`s too trivial. There is probably a built in solution that I am not aware of. I am really looking forward to replies.
Thanks in advance
