VB application to send SMS

I started project working with VBA and I am trying to send and receive SMS messages using HTTP requests. I will add SMS messaging functionality to my system with the use of an HTTP SMS gateway, (I found OzekiSMS Gateway) and post SMS messages to this gateway using HTTP requests. I will run the VB.Net application on a different computer. They recommend Microsot Visual Basic 2008 Express Edition (

Is it the best VB version for my purpose?

Possibly but you can no longer get VB Express 2008. If you are using XP, use VB Express 2010. If you are using W7, use VB Express 2012.

Compared to what? There's nothing inherent in VB that prevents you from doing what you are trying to do, since they are essentially system calls to system resources.
