Ventilation Rate for Intermittent Spaces (lecture rm.)

Guys,

I was told per the IMC Appendix A, it would tell me that I'm only required to supply half the outside air to the space if it was only occupied for 3 hrs. or less.

1.) Is this correct?

2.) When I went to the Appendix A, It talked about combustion air and clearances...where is this code in print so I can put this to rest..
