vertical and horizontal motor

please can you tell me why sometimes we use vertical motor instead the horizontal one ,is that position ,vertical,decrease the inertia of motor.

the inertia of anything does not change with its position.

The position of the engine depend mostly on the space available for it. and maybe some other details like refrigeration or transmited torque to the rest of the structure.
