Dears,
I need some clarification regarding the Heat exchanger inspection.
1. In our plant we have an Vertical type Heat exchanger with U type tube bundles. We need to carry out the inspection, the concern is the exchanger is in elevated location, is it possible to pull the tube bundle without any damage. Does any one had done this?
2. what is the best method for carry out shell and tube HE with floating head and also without?
3. For Hydro jet cleaning of tubes, is there any limitations for pressure? (Tube DP is 15 Bar)

Thanks in advance

psk211984, I think it is going to be about impossible to adequately answer such questions in a forum like this. Suggest you work closely with the plant, the HX manufacturer(s) and any involved vendors / contractors.

Regards,

Mike

The problem with sloppy work is that the supply FAR EXCEEDS the demand

Much of the information that you need will become apparent to you when you learn how the unit was built and installed.
Some of these would have been designed to allow pulling the bundle, and some not.
