Hello Everybody,

I am trying to learn Contact/Interactions in Abaqus CAE and, therefore, have following model

Code:
Parts: 3D Solid Deformable
Cube(Steel, Isotropic)
Plate(Aluminum, Isotropic)

Assembly:
Both Parts, Body Centers aligned, Face to face with an initial clearance (gap) of 5.

Steps:
Initial: Abaqus Default
Contact: General Static (all Values Abaqus default)
Separation: General Static (all Values Abaqus default)

Interaction:
CoSurface to Surface between the two "Facing" faces with Master as CubeSurface and Slave as PlateSurface.
Interaction Property:
Tangential Frictionless and Normal Hard Contact with Contact enforcement Default and Allow separation (yes).

The parts are so assembled that the face normal is in Z-Axis (Direction 3)
Load:
Plate Outerface(not facing Cube), Displacement (U1,U2,UR1,UR2,UR3=0) U3 Unchecked. Boundary condition propagated in further steps.
Cube Outerface(not facing Plate), Displacement (U1,U2,UR1,UR2,UR3=0) U3=10(towards the plate in step:Contact), modified in next step as Displacement (U1,U2,UR1,UR2,UR3=0) U3=-10(away from the plate in step:Separation)

Mesh:
Hex Stuctured (All default)

[highlight #EF2929]Problem:
Visualization--> In Contact step the Cube moves the Plate with itself (as expected). But in Separation step, the cube is kind of glued to Plate and brings the Plate back with itself (unwanted), i.e

PLATE AND CUBE DO NOT SEPARATE IN SEPARATION STEP
.[/highlight]

I tried by using only Tangential, only Normal, Tangential+Normal contact property but no Good.

Hope anyone has a nice idea.
