Very long continuous extension spring 1

I am looking for a source for a 80 inch long, .200 O.D., .018 stainless wire extension spring. This would function as "armor" over an antenna cable. I have found the medical "guide coil" manufacturers, but they deal with very small O.D.'s and will not quote my spring. This is similar to the coiled wire used on speedometer cable housings and bicycle brake cable housings but I cannot seem to find anyone who can wind this long. Are the winding machines special ? Special techniques ? We currently make on 40 inches long and our local spring winder uses a piece of small diameter pvc pipe to control the spring as it is being wound, however, this doesnt work for any longer than the 40 inch length. Help...

Have you contacted Associated Spring? If they can't make it at one of their facilities, you are going to have a difficult time getting this type of spring manufactured.
