Hello.
The guys from the NX5 support installed us our new plotter HP500. But it plots very slow and they couldn't solve the problem. One A0 takes about 20min to plot. We've tried adding QDRAFT and FAST775 to the plot options but didn't hepl much. The resolution is 150 or 300 still no difference.
Please help me to find a solution for this really slow plotting.

Are using HPGL/2 or Postscript? I switched an HP750c from Postscript to HPGL/2, and it cut the plot time in half or better.

Everything should be designed as simple as possible, but not simpler.

You'll usually know if the plotter is performing poorly using postscript when it spends 15 minutes digesting the transmission coming down the the line, sitting there with the light flashing. After which it will probably print the drawing at a normal speed.

It may be that you should speak with your plotter vendor about more memory or better postscript support.

Since most roll plotters support HPGL/2 most roll plotter users configure for HPGL/2 and send that to the plotter.

The catch is that many organizations plot to postscript or PDF files which they keep on disk as plot only as required. To get that working well postscript might also be preferable.

For printer (Laser) plotting postscript is also the more usual option.

Hope this helps

Regards

Hudson
