Hello ,
Good Day!
I have a query regarding Tri Lobe Rotary Air Blower Application.
We need to select VFD for this application but Not sure whether to select Heavy Duty VFD or Normal Duty VFD.
is 110% starting torque sufficient for Tri Lobe Rotary Air Blower Application???

If the blower is not starting against a load (other blowers) or small downstream volume, 100% starting torque should be sufficient.

Heavy duty, no doubt.

The only thing that you would use Normal Duty for are centrifugal (also known as “quadratic” in some countries) pumps and fans. Those applications make up approx. 70% of all AC induction motors used, hence the term “Normal”. This is also referred to as “Variable Torque” machine applications. Everything else requires Heavy Duty or Constant Torque rated VFDs.
