What type of equipment is available to perform in field vibration test on steel and concrete structures. These structures would support heavy vibrating machinery (Screens, Crushers....). Looking into meters for individual support member frequencies and overall structure frequencies.

We were in need for the same thing recently. We have a few vibration pick ups with mm/s output going from 20 Hz to 1 kHz. That is a common frequency range. But this time, we needed "many" and we needed to go lower in frequency.

We bought a bunch of Analog Device's ADXL335 and had little integrators and a supply (battery plus shunt stabilizer) made for them. Works fine in our application, which is vibration monitoring in centerless grinding machines.

The ADXL335 is well documented and easy to calibrate, use the Earth's gravitational field. They cost next to nothing and are easy to protect from a rough environment. Recommended.
