When using a MV motor vertical mounted, shaft down, and wanting to use velocity transducer for continous vibration monitoring of the bearings,what is the best position to fix the sensor, i.e (H) Horizontal, (A) axial or (V) vertical

For "Vertical motors" if only a single vibration sensor is attached, put it RADIAL (perpendicular to the shaft).
For better control an axial sensor could be added.
 
I'd pick a spot that offers a direct path to a bearing housing. That should cut the choices considerably. Radial would usually get best unbalance signal and good bearing condition info. Some folks have had excellent results judging ball bearing condition measuring axially.

 
Take care when selecting a radial position on the vertical motor, if you move a transducer around in a 360 degree arc you will notice varying amounts of vibration. This is related to base stiffness, quite often we have found the vibration to be greater at 90 degrees to the discharge pipe. One such instance was 0.12ips in line with the pipe and 0.32ips at 90 degrees.
