I have a 9'-0" wide elliptical track with wide flange columns around the perimeter. The ellipse is 111'-4" x 151'-4". I'm thinking I need to support the outer edge from the roof but I've been asked about cantilevering the track off the columns. Has anyone cantilevered a running track? Also would using the criteria (1.5%g limit) for an indoor footbridge from Design Guide 11 be appropriate. I've done vibration analysis on a floor but never a track. Thanks.

I haven't done anything like that befor. But, I did have a couple of thoughts:
1) The assumed frequency and magnitude of the footfall vibration for running may be significantly different. You can probably still use the DG-11 criteria. You just might have to take a closer look at chapter 5.

2) Chapter 3.4 does cover continuous beams and cantilevers. So, it can be done.

3) My guess is that you're more likely to have a frequency or floor stiffness problem than you will be to exceed that 1.5%g accelertion limit.... but, that's just a gut feeling.
