I was using the View Dependent Edit command and was interested in the Convert Dependency. Can anyone tell me how this feature works? Thanks

Do you have a specific question that the help file did not address?

One example (of several) is if you need an entity to appear in a drawing view, but can only create it in modeling.

"Good to know you got shoes to wear when you find the floor." - [small]Robert Hunter[/small]

I use it to allow text placed on the model to be visible in drafting.

It can also come in handy if you want to transfer geometry from the model space to the drawing sheet itself. See thread561-302445

Also remember that all annotation (dimension, notes, symbols, etc.) is created as Drafting objects, even if they are created in a modeling view, but since they ARE Drafting objects they will be created as View Dependent Objects. Which means that if you add a note or a label in a modeling view and you would like to see these objects in any other modeling view you can use the 'Convert Dependency' function to convert the View Dependent Objects to Model Dependent which means that they will now be visible no matter which modeling view I decide to display.
