When I view dependent edit an divided face edge in my ISO view, the view shows parts edge that should be hidden by the part.
I don't think I explained that very well, but attached is a picture of what I am doing.
Is there a different way to change the appearance of the divided face edge to a dotted line?

Thanks,
Chris

Try Edit Object Segments instead of Edit Entire Objects.

In the view dependent edit dialog, you'll need to choose 'edit segments'. From there you can divide the edge curve where it hits the silhouette edges of the cylinder and change it independently from the rest of the edge curve.

That is what I'm using (Edit Object Segments). Really weird because when I select that edge, it highlights properly, but as soon as I apply it, it displays like you see in the 2nd picture.
Is the fact that it's a divided face that is causing this issue?

Are you picking each silhouette curve as new segment boundaries (assuming you picked the segment in an area that you want to keep)? There should appear an asterisk shape at the point the system wants to divide it. Picking only one will not get you what you need.

There we go, forgot to set my boundaries. Thanks a ton ewh.

Sometimes it helps to do the view dependent editing in the expanded view, then rotate the view (using your spaceball) if issues come up and you will easier see what the problem may be.
