Hi,

I am creating a cumtom template with links to Iproperties.

Is it possible to show the view scale automatically in the title block. It should update if we chamge the scale of the view.

Quick answer: No.

I downloaded one of those Kwick macro/Add-In's that will add a Custom iProperty for the Scale of the first View. The Add-In is supposed to run every time you activate a drawing and update the iProperty...but that doesn't work for me so far. So I have to manually click the macro Update button if I ever change the View Scale (which really is not very often).

Then, of course, use that iProperty in your Title Block.

Putting the scale on your print is generally accepted to be a BAD practice. The reason being that by putting the scale factor on a drawing you are inviting someone to actually measure the hard copy drawing. I don't know about you but I know the printers I use are not THAT accurate. If they need a dimension not on the print, they should look at the CAD model.

In the mechanical world we never put the scale because there is no point..

In the architectual world the scale is usually always there because many times you measure off the print for rough estimates, etc...

CADone, Did you know that showing the view scale is an option upon placing the first view? Just use that and be done with it. It puts the scale (and a label if you want) right below the base view.

Also many times you may find that you need to include multiple views (with the posibility of multiple scales) on the same sheet..
