Hello all,
I was hoping that you might have an answer to a problem of mine. My company contracted out the FEA of a cover to another company, and it is my belief that the model they are using is incorrectly made. I wished to view it to check the accuracy, and ask for an .STL which I could open, but got sent a .DB (I was told that it is an ANSYS 13 model). Do you know of any programs that are available to view the model? Additionally, in the pictures that were sent you can clearly make out the underlying beams (looking at the nodes) on what should be a piece of sheet metal (a flat plane). Is it your experience that this is a normal byproduct of how ANSYS constructs the mesh? or does this indicate that there is a problem that must be addressed? I am leaning towards the latter. Any input that you might have would be appreciated.
