Is anyone using ProductView to view scanned drawings ??

I have a approximatley 300+ 'hand-drawn' drawings which need to be scanned and added to INTRALINK so that it can be viewed in ProductView. Having spoken to varoius scanning companys, the final format seems to be TIFF. Can ProductView view TIFF files ????? ...Haym LOL

Haym,

I'm testing ProductView 6.0 at our company, and it does view .tif files fine. We use the TIFF format for all scanned drawings.

Good Luck,

As I recall, the image embedded into .drw files when the config option SAVE_DRAWING_PICTURE_FILE is set to EMBED is derived from the .tif format. If this 'drawing picture file' is exported, however, it is stored as a .pic file...and not recognized by many graphics programs.

Another instance of PTC's proprietary BS policies.

We are using ProductView 6.0. We have about 15,000 manual (hand drawn) drawings and had them scanned into PDF format. This way the drawings are online, and are easily sent out to vendors who don't have ProductView. If they ever need modification (unlikely since they are very old) they are redrawn into Pro/E.
