Viewreps not really locked

I'm sure that I'm being a bit dim and missing something obvious but I have an occasional problem when I insert new parts into an assembly and they appear in locked viewreps.

I thought the whole point of locking the viewrep was to prevent this.

It makes it worse because some of my assemblies have the problem but some don't and I have no idea what is different between the assemblies. Is there a setting which I have inadvertently switched off/on?

Any help would be gratefully received.

If a view rep is locked, parts placed after that will NOT show up when the locked view rep is active (sort of). For example let's say you have a "default" and a "locked" view rep. If you have default rep active and place new parts when you make locked active again you will not see those newly added parts. If you have locked active and add parts the parts will show (but only for placement purpose). If you make default active then make locked active again the parts will now not show.
So they show if you have the locked view rep active only to aid in placement but really are invisible when the view rep is reactivated.

Yes, that's what is meant to happen but it's not what is happening on some (not all) of my assemblies.

It's not too bad because I can unlock the view reps, make the new parts invisible then lock it again but it's slightly irritating because it's not waorking how it's supposed to.

If it's a problem and you can reproduce it and you are on subscription support then create a case and have them investigate. If not..you're SOL and just deal with it and move on.
