I'm trying to come up with an easier way for our designers to add parts to assemblies which aren't easily, or impossible, to model in Inventor. These are components like thread-locking compound, sealants, lock-wire, etc. To attempt to model them would be ludicrous.
We have decided that virtual components are the simplest and most stable way to do this. Unfortunately, with every new assembly made, the necessary virtual components will have to be added over and over. My question: is it possible to save these virtual components to a location in the vault, so they can be "dropped" into an assembly like a normal part? Thus eliminating the need to create them and add their iProperties over and over?
As always, thank you for your help.
