Once again I am comming to guys and gals for some drawing advice.

I have a dilema in trying to create virtual sharps in a drawing. now i am aware of creating center marks and centerlines in drawings (thanks to Heckler) but that is only helpful in 2 cases..... 1) to add a datum axis in the model by selecting a circular feature (which does not help since the axis is on the inside of the radius. and 2) using a datum plane as a center line but unfortunately this does not help. I need to dimension a part that has for example a front profile that incorporates a 60 degree angle to it but at the virtual intersection there is a .25" fillet now in the drawing I want to specify where that virtual intersection is by showing a "centermark" in that location and dimensioning from there.

Thanks

A couple of ways you can go about this:

In the original sketch, create a sketcher point (on the sketcher toolbar). Let intent manager have it snap to the two lines. If IM doesnt snap it, use the align constraint. Make sure you pick the constraints and make them strong (Use RMB) before you dimension. Then, dimension to this point in the sketch. If it is an extruded feature, instead of using a regular point, select Sketch->Axis point. A datum axis will show up in your model, and you can show it in the drawing (NB: this has to be an Internal Sketch for the extrude feature for Axis point to work.. unlink if necessary). If this is reflective of your design intent (sounds like it is) I would recommend doing this.

If you can't do that for whatever reason, you can create a datum axis by picking the two surfaces (so they are pink [WF]) and starting the axis tool. A new axis will come up at the theoretical intersection.

You can also create a dimension in the drawing to the theoretical sharp corner. Just pick INTERSECT for the dimension attachment type and use the control key to pick the two line segments. If you make a horizontal & vertical dimension, you can drag the leader lines a little past the intersection and then add some breaks to make a cross hair.

In most cases, I would model the shape sharp and add the fillet later. That way it is easy to make the dimensions to the sharp corner driving dimensions if that is the intent. You can still use the leader line breaks to make cross hairs.
