Visual Basic for Microsoft Access

I am looking for a good book on Microsoft Access programming in Visual Basic. Most books rely on the use of simple inbuild wizards, I need a higher level than this
Any ideas

I've found that quite a few of the VB books discuss enough ADO and SQL interfacing to get up to speed on it. And there are many example programs that can be downloaded from the various VB help and free code websites to get something up and running without wasting too much time.

Hi Rodmcm,

You don't say which version of Access you use (or are planning to use). I use Access '97, and for writing VBA I have found that the Access 97 Developer's Handbook by Paul Litwin, Ken Getz and Mike Gilbert is really great (usual disclaimer). Also has good sample code included on CD-ROM so you can cut and paste.

ISBN number is 0-7821-1941-7. The book is a bit old now, but apart from some new features in later Access versions, VBA is generally consistent, anyway by now they probably do an updated version for newer versions of Access.

Hi everyone.

I am interested to learn more about Java and visual basic programming. I've searched and read books in national bookstores but it seems time consuming for me to read all details about it and understands only a little. Can anyone help me find or recommend me a site or a book that tells a step by step details about learning Java and VB? I prefer those books or sites that starts with a basic example to the highest level programming. Thanks.
