Voltage Level Color Coding

I am modeling a new plant in ETAP and I am thinking to employ color coding for the plant electrical system so it would be easier for future users to identify bus voltages. The plant is located in Alberta Canada and the grid system is under AESO.

However, I could not find any standard from our client or AESO that defines voltage level color codes.

In this regard, I appreciate if anyone in this forum can provide me typical or standard north american color codes for voltages:

240kV or 260kV, 72kV, 13.8kV, 4.16kV and 0.60kV

I think you're looking for something doesn't exist.

We don't even have standards for one-line diagrams - voltage by color? - no chance.

Green is definitely ground.

Great idea, but make sure the voltge levels are also labeled. Not everyone looking at the one line will be viewing it on a color monitor. Some maintenance personnel with a flashlight will be trying to read a reduced size black and white printout at some time durign an outage.

Color is fantastic, but good drafting and drawing practices still prevail. Don't depend on color alone to differentiate. Show the power bus and lines with a heavier weight than CT & VT signals or tripping logic. (My pet peeve).

Thank you for all your prompt responses. Just got back from a short leave so my apologies for responding late.

I was curious of any existence of a voltage coding because sometimes, some utilities or even industrial plant substation sometimes employ some type of color on the equipment tag number of the equipment (especially on outdoor circuit breakers, switches, etc) as a way to physically see the voltage rating as the same time.

In this regard, I thought it would be a good idea to employ the same on an ETAP model single line diagram (especially if the 72kV primary line is looping or on a ring distribution in the model) The SLD model is huge that applying color codes that corresponds to voltages can provide some ease when looking for some equipment in the model. This SLD model is residing in the ETAP program. In this case I was asking if there are standards or practices out there that specifies of recommends color codes for voltages. If none, then I will set one for the purpose of what I am working on.
