Dear engineers,

I am currently a student and I am doing my graduation project which is going to be about " Power Stability with the Presence of Renewable Energy Resources " , I am asked to do a case study voltage stability simulation. Can someone please help me out, which Simulator should I use and how can I learn to use it. Many thanks in advance.

Regards,

Since you are in university, I would use the expensive (but free to you) PSS/E. It is probably the best software package for power system stability simulation. ETAP is also a good choice.

CYME provides evaluation copies and many Universities has the software available for students.Perfect package for distribution network DER studies.

I have already installed PSS/E Xplore 34 but the problem is that I dont know how to use it. So I dont know where to find tutorials for it.
Is CYME more friendly ?

Thanks alot :)

Yes, PSS/E has a pretty steep learning curve. You should be able to find some tutorial videos on youtube.

Cyma has various tutorials with working models, That's a good place to start.
