Any tips on accomodating volume change at connx between precast double tee flange and precast shearwall (parallel to tee stems) while still transfering diaphragm shear to the wall?
The colinear shearwalls in this 6 level parking facility are 120 ft apart...and, due to creep, shrinkage and temperature, I anticipate about 1/2" shortening at each end of the DT in the unrestrained condition. If the DTs are considered restrained, I anticipate about 3/16" shortening at each end of the DT, but the restraint force is excessive.
Any suggestions are appreciated.
