Von Mis stresses for plates & shells can be obtained in Staad.

Is it possible to do so for standard profiles like angles,
hollow sections, beams, etc?

Staad provides combined stresses.

Some codes use Von Mises stresses to specify permissible
stresses.

You can calculate the von Mises stress at any point in any structure. But if you are referring to the membrane and bending components that are normally extracted for a through thickness line in a plate and shell structure, then there is no equivalent of this for profiles. The fact that the allowable stress for membrane+bending in a plate structure is 1.5 times the allowable for membrane relies on another fact, the ratio 1.5 of plastic to elastic modulus for a rectangular section. For a profile that ratio is lower and may be much lower, so the same criteria for stress limitation cannot be used.
