VT Criteria

Hi All,

Where can I find the exact requirement for the VT criteria in the Code? I checked Sec VIII, Div 1, Sec V and Sec IX, seems there is NO clear criteria for the visual examination. I mean that if there is quantitative requirements for the imperfection on the welds/seams such as undercut depth, buildup height and porosity ......,

Try Sect VIII, Div 1, UW 31 to UW37. Those paragraphs provide weld profile type requirements such as mismatch, undercut, and reinforcement. Weld 'defects' such as porosity are generally addressed by other NDE methods such as MT / PT or RT.
