I modeled a part some years back -( probably SW 2009 ) It's a fairly simple 2 pc assembly which makes up a machined block with a cavity, a few drill holes and taps. The part was modeled as a whole 1 piece block which served the purpose at the time. I decide to go ahead and split the block into 2 halfs using the Split part feature. When creating a drawing of the individual halves I notice that the hole callout isn't working as I expect. When opening the split parts, the threads are offset in a strange way where they seem to be eminating from the bottom of the hole outwards. When editing from the stock part back to the in context editing..everything is just fine. Any ideas where the translation gets messed up? Sorry can't attach a pic or a file of this. I'm trying to avoid completely re-modeling this and using assembly features for the holes and taps. Some of the holes are ( real world )machined through the parting line after assembly.

That is a bug. I just tested this in SW11-SP5 and had the same result.

If you haven't already, I suggest you notify your VAR.

Thanks much for the confirmation - I guess I'll have to try this with assembly features, or maybe save out as individuals and re-model as new stand alone features. I need do this real time with people looking over my shoulder - Traveling out of country this week for this project and I'm going to lose the preparation time.

Thanks - I'll give it a try, if I have any luck I'll post back.
