We're designing a sheetpile wall that is tall enough that it will require a waler with angle tiebacks. Would anyone like to provide there opinions on, and maybe an example of how to detail the waler and tieback. The last project we did the waler was a double channels welded horizontally to the sheet piling with a beveled anchor plate for the tieback. I was thinking if that beveled plate was placed between the waler and the piling then I could angle the channels and provide a flat anchor plate for the tiebacks as well as minimize the gap between the channels. Would this cause too much bearing pressure on the sheet piling?
