Hi
I have some programs that require that I install them on the C drive of the pc but the hard drive I have is partition into two 40GB slots. What I want to know is can I remove the partion and keep all the data , or if I do remove the partion will I lose every thing. Also Could I copy all the stuff on the C drive and mirror it on to a larger Hard drive. suggestions please.
I will be getting a larger HD anyhow.

Or Acronis' partition tools.

Really, you need to back it all up before you jerk wid dah partitions. It is never a sure bet.

If you have Enhanced USB. This can be checked in the control panel>system>hardware>device manager>usb.
You MUST see the word "Enhanced" or you don't have it.

If you have it, you can get a $25 dollar kit to make a drive a USB drive and back up to it. I like Acronis True Image but a backup is built into Windoz too.

With Enhanced you can back up 80G in about 1-1/2 hours otherwise it would be about 15Hrs.

Or, just get another drive and move all your other stuff to it.
